Pressure, Volume, and Flow: Filling in the Missing Piece of Brain Physiology in Multimodality Neuromonitoring
A Lunch Symposium titled “Pressure, Volume, and Flow: Filling in the Missing Piece of Brain Physiology in Multimodality Neuromonitoring,” presented by Dr. Brandon Foreman from the University of Cincinnati, was held on Friday, September 19 at the Neurocritical Care Society’s 23rd Annual Meeting in Montreal, Canada.
Cerebral blood flow (CBF) monitoring plays a vital role in multimodality neuromonitoring (MNM), helping clinicians interpret complex brain physiology and identify secondary pathophysiologies that emerge after severe acute brain injury.
In this recorded lecture, Dr. Foreman explores how pressure, volume, and flow converge to complete our understanding of modern neurocritical care and guide patient management strategies.

Poster Presentation
Dr. Brandon Foreman of University of Cincinnati in conjunction with Hemedex presented the poster : “Brain tissue thermal conductivity-based regional quantitative brain edema values after severe traumatic brain injury” at the Neurocritical Care Society 21st Annual Meeting, August 15-18, 2023, in Phoenix, Arizona. Increasing maturation of Multi-Modal Monitoring (MMM) in neuro intensive care units is contributing more complete insight and therapeutic opportunities for improving management and outcome in severe traumatic brain injury and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Hemedex strives to stay abreast of developments in perfusion quantification technology, data analysis and visualization to support MMM investigations in elevating standards of care for brain injured patients.
“Hemedex is the only company that provides a monitor for absolute real-time measurement of cerebral blood flow/perfusion in soft tissue. The Bowman Perfusion Monitor provides continuous bedside monitoring for up to ten days during Multimodal Monitoring in the Neuro ICU.”
Celebrating success over the years.
A big thank you to our customers, sales reps, distributors and many more!
